It's the love for Nicaragua
that the fighting is about;
as about it were the fightings
of 1979.
Love lead the revolution
of the people who cared
and it lead the evolution
of the new civil unrest.
Love for our country
our neighbors and friends.
Love for our families
our volcanoes and lakes.
This is the legacy of those
who fought before us,
it flows through our bloodstream
it lives in our genes
and now that we’ve found it
we are fighting for it.
And we do peace and love
but in a whole new way
you can see it in the wake
of our peaceful protest.
We do love and equality.
We do peace and respect.
We care for each other;
we embrace and tolerate.
